I, like so many others, am looking to frame the world with my camera, through the view finder.

I enjoy finding beauty in the mundane, in everyday life. I love to shoot trees and flying seagulls but as much to examine a person's face and expressions with the camera. For me, the making of an image can start in my mind, before I press the shutter but often in the moment and also afterwards. I love to discover images I've already taken.

It is my point of view, my take on the world. It's about light, color, mood and feeling. I try to use my instinct to capture images that take on a life of their own.

Michael Skoglund is a professional photographer from Sweden. He lives and works in New York City. He studied photography at Folkuniversitetet, Stockholm,Sweden in 1992 and at The International Center of Photography in New York 1993-94. He is photographing on a freelance basis for various clients, such as Foreign and American media, New York University, St. Vincent's Hospital and Weil Studio among others. He has also participated in several exhibitions in New York and abroad. His speciality is portraiture, including wedding photography.
